Survivor guilt is a real thing.
After significant organisational change is imposed, there are those that leave and those that are left behind. Neither path is easy.
When you are left behind, you often experience deep pangs of guilt. It is beyond your control, but that doesn’t ease the feelings of shame, responsibility, and trauma. This is especially the case when the team impacted is tight and friendships are involved.
For Stephanie Varidel, being chosen as a survivor during a corporate change was not a blessing, but a catalyst. A catalyst that helped her to carve out her own path, where she was heavily involved in creating a new culture of trust.

Sometimes, the logical outcome is not the actual outcome.
And often rejection is actually redirection to something better.
But even for the most resilient of us, it hurts. It feels personal. Even when it’s often not.
For Susan Forrester, missing out on a role that she was imminently qualified for, was hard to understand.
Growing emotional muscle and resilience often comes from the harshest of lessons.
And the reflection after the lesson is where the true learning is.

What does it mean to lead just by being yourself?
At 22, Kelly Griffith faced a quiet but powerful decision: bring her partner to a work event and risk judgment or stay silent to stay safe. In the early 2000s, for LGBTQ+ professionals, authenticity often came at a cost.
Kelly chose visibility.
She chose courage.
And that choice sparked something bigger: it gave others permission to be real, too.
This is a story about the kind of leadership that doesn’t come from titles, but from truth. About how showing up as yourself can change the culture around you.
Because real leadership? It starts with authenticity.

"Nobody can do this as good as me."
That belief pushed Nina Nguyen to the edge. What looked like confidence was actually imposter syndrome and it didn’t just affect her. It impacted her team, creating a high-pressure culture built on competition instead of collaboration.
The turning point came when Nina accepted that she didn’t need to be the smartest person in the room. Letting go of perfection opened the door to better leadership, healthier dynamics, and a more empowered team.
Her story is a powerful reminder: true leadership isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about creating space for others to grow with you.

What happens when you're suddenly responsible for 250 people with little preparation?
Karl Jacoby found out the hard way. Underprepared and overwhelmed, he didn’t walk away. Instead, he leaned in and discovered a powerful truth: being unprepared doesn’t mean being incapable.
Karl’s journey reveals how we often overestimate what we can do today, but underestimate what we can become over time. Leadership isn’t about being ready from day one, it’s about growing into the role, refining your mindset, and staying in it for the long game.
A story of resilience, self-leadership, and long-term growth.

Workplace politics can test even the strongest leaders. When Rachel Condos-Fields faced subtle sabotage from a colleague, she was hurt, frustrated, and shocked.
But she didn’t retaliate. She chose integrity.
By staying professional and letting her work speak for itself, Rachel proved that leadership isn't about reacting, it’s about rising above.
This isn’t weakness. It’s strategy.
Because true leaders lead even when it’s hard. And in the end, integrity always wins.
