Ben Ikin is a celebrated leader in Australian sport and business, known for his elite performance, strategic insight, and passion for community growth.
A former professional rugby league player with 150 NRL games under his belt, Ben won a premiership with the Brisbane Broncos and made 17 State of Origin appearances for Queensland, famously debuting as the youngest Maroon in history before representing Australia at Test level.
Off the field, Ben became one of the most respected voices in rugby league as a host and analyst on Fox Sports’ NRL 360 and other media platforms, where his sharp intellect and storytelling connected with fans nationwide.
Transitioning into sport governance and executive leadership, Ben has served on the board of the North Queensland Cowboys and as an independent director on the Queensland Rugby League board, where he led key performance and pathways initiatives. He brings strong commercial experience from senior roles across sports and business sectors, including strategic growth, stakeholder engagement, and organisational leadership.
In May 2023, Ben was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Queensland Rugby League, where he now leads the development of the game from grassroots to elite levels — driving participation, innovation, and cultural impact across the state.
